From the garden....

I can remember when I was a kid, my daddy always had a garden. He tried to involve me in it any way he could. I can remember running behind him as he tilled up the ground. My "job" was to pick up all the rocks and throw them in the woods. I can still remember the feel of the dirt between my toes and how much fun it was to make foot prints in the freshly tilled soil. He'd let me help him plant the plants and water them. My favorite part was potato picking. He'd go to the shed, get the shovel, sink it in the ground and easily bring up what seemed like a hundred or so potatoes. For some reason, it always amazed me.

As much as he tried...I just couldn't get as excited as him about the garden. Flash forward about 30 years. Now my garden is MY HAPPY place! I love it! Even with nosey neighbors that live in back of me...there is no better place on earth than my little garden. I love being able to plant things and watch them grow and produce food! I try my best to get Flat Foot involved...but like me when I was his ate, there is little to no interest. It is still a great thing!! Thank you daddy for planting the seed...I LOVE TO GARDEN!

Yesterday, I picked 4 cucumbers, 1 squash, 1 zucchini and 2 bell peppers. I noticed that I have a pink tomato in the garden as well!!!

It's Green!!!

We had the house painted last week. I can't take any credit...good OR bad. Steve picked out the colors...

I will, however, take ALL the credit for the front door. I give many thanks to my daddy who taught me ALL the great things I know....like how to refinish a door. Damn, that's hard work. Daddy always makes these things look easy! LOL!

Here are a few more random shots....

They put a really neat design on the front porch. The yellow is the same color as the walls in the living room/kitchen.

I just realized I don't have any of the back of the house or the shed. I'll do that today...if little Flat Foot lets me.
